They say the horse is 90% of the game! We give your ponies the best of care in order to keep them, and you, at peak performance.

A former Eventing rider and graduate Pony Club member, Northpointe owner Kate Dougherty has a keen eye and passion for horse care. We believe that the ponies are happiest living the most natural lifestyle possible, so they spend most of their time grazing in small herds.

We are a small boutique syle facility, with current capacity capped at 11 horses. This ensures your partner in polo will always have top-notch care.

WE OFFER BOARDING FOR POLO PONIES YEAR ROUND

ALL BOARD INCLUDES:

  • Free access to fresh water and salt blocks

  • Timothy/ Orchard blend Hay fed up to 3 times daily, or free choice as necessary

  • Triple Crown Ration Balancer fed twice daily

  • Supplements or additional feed as provided by owner given up to twice daily

  • One blanket change per day in winter

  • Use of our 1/2 mile conditioning track

  • Use of stick & ball field (weather permitting)

  • Use of our 150’ x 300’ sand arena for riding and stick & ball

 

FIELD BOARD:

Field board horses live out 24/7 in small groups in dry lots with a run-in shelter and full time access to grass paddocks. Horses are fed twice daily, and dry lots are cleaned every morning and evening.

STABLE BOARD:

Stable horses live in 13’ x 13’ stalls, bedded on pine shavings. Horses are fed 3 times daily, stalls are cleaned every morning, and horses are turned out in grass paddocks all day or all night depending on season.

CONDITIONING

Conditining your pony is important! We offer conditioning services, taking your pony on set daily so they will be fit and ready to play.

GROOM SERVICE

For Club Level players. If you don’t have time to tack up your pony before practice or just want to stick & ball, we can have them ready for you when you arrive.

POLO PONY TUNE-UPS

All ponies need a little refresher in their training from time to time, especially if you aren’t a professional rider! Our visiting trainer from Argentina can give your pony a one time tune-up ride, or they can come stay with us for an extended training period.

SUPPLEMENTS

We have developed a custom supplement blend that we highly recommend feeding to your pony for additional nutrients that will help keep your pony looking and playing their best. The NP Blend can be added to your pony’s rations.

PRE AND POST SEASON SPORTS MANAGEMENT

All of our ponies get a pre and post season check-in with our Sports Management specialist. They are athletes after all and this is to ensure they are comfortable and will remain able to play for many seasons to come. We can add your pony to the list to join us!
